HIPPY Riverview & Manoora

 

The Home Interaction Program for Parents and Youngsters (HIPPY) is a home-based parenting and early childhood enrichment program that supports families with young children. HIPPY develops foundations for learning in the home and empowers parents to be their children's first teacher. The program is suitable for children from 4 years of age.

For children, HIPPY aims to:

Encourage a love of learning
Prepare for school by teaching early numeracy and literacy
Maximise chances of enjoyment and doing well at school|
Promote language and listening skills and develop concentration
Build self esteem and confidence in learning
Provide opportunities for parents and children to enjoy time together

For parents, HIPPY aims to:

Help create a learning environment at home
Increase knowledge of child development and the way children learn
Provide opportunities to enjoy positive time with their children
Enable them to be actively involved in their children’s education
Create employment and training opportunities
