Redland-Bayside Child and Family Support Hub

Playgroup Queensland’s Redland-Bayside Child and Family Support Hub operates at 9/21 Waterloo Street, Cleveland.

The Hub delivers a range of support services for families with children birth to eight years within the Redland and Bayside areas with a focus on prevention and early intervention.

The primary activities include:

  • Telephone and drop in referral and information services for families

  • Hub based early intervention activities - including baby playgroups and mixed age community playgroups for families with children aged between birth and eight years

  • Enhanced opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families - including supported playgroups

  • Early intervention programs targeting culturally and linguistically diverse families, families with a parent and/or child with a disability or mental illness, and young parents

  • Parenting and child development courses for parents and caregivers

  • Networking and training opportunities for community agencies and organisations working with families with children aged birth to eight years

  • Resource centre including a toy library, parenting books and AV resources for families with children aged birth to eight years

This service employs a Hub Co-ordinator and an Early Years/Parenting Support worker who both live in the Redlands area.
Our Hub Co-ordinator is committed to forming collaborative partnerships with other stake holders to address communities and previously disadvantaged people, who lack resources. The Hub plays an active role in developing and delivering professional development training that supports the inclusion of culturally and linguistically diverse children and their families.
