'Playgroup Plus' aims to improve the quality of the play experience by bringing together the strength of a parent managed playgroup with the expertise of a qualified Early Childhood facilitator. Parents continue to attend the group, assuming volunteer roles as with other playgroups, but the children's play experiences are guided by a facilitator employed by Playgroup Queensland. A creative, age-and developmentally-appropriate play program is designed to provide a range of activities suitable for the children attending.

Considerable planning goes into the playgroup with a dedicated baby area and a play program that is enjoyable for both parents and children alike. Activities include a mix of structured and unstructured activities including music and dance, indoor and outdoor play, story telling, and a variety of activity areas for dramatic and creative play.
