Woorabinda IAS Playgroup

OVERVIEW

The Woorabinda Playgroup delivers two facilitated playgroup sessions per week at the Woorabinda State School. The sessions are led by a Facilitator and a Play Helper who deliver culturally appropriate play experiences to assist in the development of local children to be better prepared for school. The playgroup helps families connect with local services while also engaging with elders and community champions. The purpose of the playgroup is to foster meaningful learning and development of the child, family and community. This playgroup has been delivered by Playgroup Queensland in the Woorabinda community for the last eight years.
This playgroup is a collaboration between Playgroup Queensland and the Woorabinda State School.

TARGET AUDIENCE

Local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families.
